Grand Glacier Tour

This flight showcases the incredible concentration of glaciers surrounding Palmer, Alaska—offering a front-row seat to some of the Chugach Range’s most striking icefields. From the sweeping expanse of Knik Glacier to the dramatic flows of Colony, Whiteout, and Cataract, each glacier tells a different story carved by ice, terrain, and time.

The result is a dynamic flight that reveals the scale, texture, and movement of the Chugach Mountains in a way that’s only possible from the air.

Getting Ready For Your Flight

What to Bring

Preparing for your flightseeing tour is simple — just bring a few essentials to stay comfortable and ready to enjoy the view.

  • Shades are a must

    Clouds and snow reflect a lot of light from the sun. We recommend bringing a pair of quality sunglasses so you don’t have to squint against the glare or snow.

  • Pack a Snack

    We recommend packing a light snack for your flight tour & water. You are welcome to bring a small bag on the trip.

  • Take Lots of Photos

    Don’t forget to bring your phone or a good camera with an empty memory card. You will want to remember these views!

  • Dress in Layers

    We recommend dressing in layers and wearing comfortable clothing suitable for the weather conditions.

We are located at Palmer Municipal Airport (PAAQ). Less than an hour from Anchorage. Our address is:

Rather we pick you up? We do offer pick up and drop ‘s off at select hotels & airbnbs in the Matsu Valley and Anchorage. Cost begins at $100. If you’re interested in this option give us a call and we can arrange.

A few that you will see are the Knik Glacier, Colony Glacier, Whiteout Glacier, Marcus Baker Glacier, and more. All situated within the world-famous Chugach Mountain Range.

While we cannot land directly on the glacier, if you book a tour that includes a landing, we can land in a variety of scenic areas. Landing locations variety based on conditions & your safety is always our priority but could include: dirt strips near iceberg filled lagoons, sand bars, gravel runways, on lakes (frozen ones, too!)

Our  flight tours are typically offered in our Cessna 206 (max 5 guests) or Cessna 180/185 (max 3 guests). Each plane is well maintained and equipped with large windows for the best visibility we can offer to our guests.

Togo Aviation has a flexible cancellation policy: Full refunds are available up to 7 days before your departure date; cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable but may be rescheduled, at our discretion. Cancellations due to weather are always refundable or able to be rescheduled, pending availability.

Yes! All our flightseeing tours are suitable for all ages, offering an exciting and memorable experience for the whole family. Children under the age of 2-years are free. Please note the child must ride on an adult’s lap. We request advance notice of all passengers that will be on the flight, including lap babies.
